Description

Frustrated by the canned sounds of commercial sound library doors, we set out to record new doors that fit the action of many of the Feature films we’ve worked on. We set about recording wood doors, wood doors and more wood doors in houses, apartments and cabins of various ages and sizes. Front doors, side doors, back doors, bedroom doors, closet doors, bathroom doors, porch doors, bi-fold doors, shuttered doors, screen doors, even a laundry hatch. This giant collection features mainly opening, closing, handle movement, locking and unlocking. In a future release, we’ll feature knocks, locks and latches. You’ll find opens and closes of varying intensity and speed. The recordings are natural and nothing was added or layered. No post-processing was applied.

This is a collection of close to 200 door sounds that will add realism and life to your programs and films. You’ll feel like you’re in the room as the characters enter and exit.

Most recordings were done with the Schoeps microphones, while some feature a close and a far mic at the same time for varying perspectives. These recordings are clearly marked as to which mic was close and which was a little further back. Otherwise it was a single mic, or a coincident XY pattern.

All files are embedded with comprehensive metadata for optimal use in Soundminer, Basehead, Pro Tools Workspace, and more!

This product contains 200 audio files.
